2.40(b)(2) (Non-Critical) – Attending veterinarian and adequate veterinary care (dealers and exhibitors).
There is a bottle of expired anti-parasitic medication (ivermectin) being used for the dogs in the kennel. The bottle has an expiration date stamp of APR 2024. Medical records indicate this medication was still being used May-November 2024 for heartworm prevention in adult dogs at the facility. Medications being used past the expiration date have unknown efficacy and potency; thus, they may no longer be efficacious for the labeled indications of use. Correct by ensuring that the facility is using the appropriate methods to prevent and control diseases. Correct by: December 25, 2024, onward.

2.78(a) (Non-Critical) – Health certification and identification.
The facility is not obtaining health certificates on puppies prior to shipment with an intermediate handler. Three puppies were sold in 2024 and transported by an intermediate handler and did not have a corresponding health certificate. Health certificates are important in assuring the puppies being transported are free from communicable and contagious diseases prior to shipment. Correct by ensuring the facility shall only deliver a dog (or puppy) to an intermediate handler for transportation in commerce unless it is accompanied by a health certificate executed and issued by a licensed veterinarian. Correct by: December 20, 2024, onward.

3.13(a)(3) (Non-Critical) – Veterinary care for dogs.
The facility is not following the Program of Vet Care (PVC) for vaccinations. Of the 68 adult dogs, 66 are not up to date on the three vaccinations required by the Animal Welfare Act (rabies, distemper, and parvovirus). The current Program of Vet Care prescribes for the vaccinations to be performed yearly, after completing their puppy series (which ends at 14 weeks of age). – The following dog has no history of receiving the rabies vaccine (the distemper/parvovirus vaccine is current): Female Yorkie “Makenna” #2737 – The following dog has a history of all three vaccines but are now overdue: Male Poodle #3096 – The following dogs have no vaccine history recorded for any of the required vaccines: Female Cavalier “Angel” #3715 Female Cavalier “Daisy” #8301 Female Cavalier “Marian” #5416 – The following dogs have received the distemper/parvovirus vaccine, but are now overdue (the rabies vaccine current): Male Poodle “Ansel” #2378 Male Poodle “Sunkis Last Hurrah” #6310 Female Poodle “Ashley” #3738 Female Poodle “Amber” #3722 Female Poodle “Abby” #2359 Female Poodle “Arabelle” #2351 Female Poodle “Aquillas” #2355 Female Poodle “Krista” #2234 Female Poodle “Bailey” #2380 Female Poodle “Paige” #2379 Female Poodle “Brielle” #9932 Female Poodle “Trish” #5190 Female Cavalier “DM Kinsley Lily” Female Cavalier “Daisy” #2349 Female Cavalier “Kinsley” #8413 Female Cavalier “Hope” #8415 Male Schnauzer “Fritz” #3721 Male Schnauzer “Maverick” #9752 Female Schnauzer “Celia” #2322 Female Schnauzer “Claire” #5735 Female Schnauzer “Erika” #3782 Female Schnauzer “Betzy” #3879 Female Schnauzer “Gracie” #5199 Female Schnauzer “Loretta” #3571 Male Pug “Lincoln” #2350 Female Pug “Julie” #9036 Female Pug “Jess” #5594 Female Pug “Kia” #3073 Female Puig “Lola” #3467 Female Pug “LG Serena’s Dollie” #6504 Female Pug “Indy” #8590 Female Pug “Dixie” DOB 6/14/22 Female Pug “Kenzie” #8599 Female Pug “Zoey” #6315 Female Cavapoo “Sheila” #4926 Female Cavapoo “Kara” #5815 Female Cavapoo “Linsey” #2348 Female Havanese “Samantha” #5731 Female Havanese “Tina” #5739 Female Havanese “Tara” #5738 Male Yorkie “Leo” DOB 7/23/21 Male Yorkie “Denver” #0263 Female Yorkie “Pebbles” #8090 Female Yorkie “Peggy” #7495 Female Yorkie “Suzi” #4959 Female Yorkie “Miley” #6092 Female Yorkiepoo “Winnie” #2329 – The following dogs did not complete their puppy series of distemper/parvovirus vaccinations: Female Pug “Dana” #3711 Female Pug “Demi” #3701 Female Yorkie “Shelly” #4232 Female Yorkie “DM Peggy Sabrina” #4601 Female Yorkie “DM Peggy Sophia” #4618 Female Yorkie “DM Pebbles Chloe” #4614 Female Pug “Brooklyn” DOB 7/13/23 Female Pug “Phoenix” #6521 Female Pug “Paris” #6500 Female Pug “Penny” 6526 Female Schnauzer DOB 6/20/23 Female Schnauzer “Libby” #0746 Female Cavalier “Candy” #0240 Female Cavalier “Honey” #0246 Failure to follow the PVC for vaccination leaves the dogs susceptible to diseases, which, if contracted, would cause pain, distress, and suffering. It is also important for breeding dogs to be vaccinated because they will pass immunity from vaccines onto their offspring. Correct by administering all of the vaccines required by the Animal Welfare Act (distemper, parvovirus, and rabies) in accordance with a schedule approved by the Attending Veterinarian and vaccine manufacturer recommendations. Correct By: January 5, 2025, onward. This inspection and exit interview were conducted with the facility representative. n
