3.13(a) (Non-Critical) – Veterinary care for dogs.
The facility did not have a written Program of Veterinary Care (PVC) for dogs available for review at the time of inspection. Additionally, regularly scheduled visits, not less than once every 12 months, by the attending veterinarian have not been conducted. A written program of veterinary care for dogs and regularly scheduled visits to the premises are crucial to ensure dogs are receiving proper medical and preventive care, and that the facility is following the attending veterinarian’s guidance. The facility must keep and maintain a written program of veterinary care for dogs that is signed by the attending veterinarian and must ensure that site visits to the facility are conducted no less than once every 12 months. The written program must also address all the requirements laid out in 3.13. Correct by March 31, 2025. This inspection and exit interview were conducted with a facility representative. n
