3.6(a)(1) (Non-Critical) – Primary enclosures.
The primary enclosures have not been constructed of appropriate materials for the size and force of the large dogs and are not being maintained in good repair. The indoor floor for four of the dogs, which is coated with a patio flooring paint, is peeling in various areas. In one of the outdoor runs, a dog has recently chewed off a large portion of the white board, approximately 2’x2′ in size, that is covering the sealed wooden walls of the building. In three other outdoor runs, the dogs have chewed the white board around the access doors which has also exposed the underlying wooden walls. Enclosures that are constructed with materials that can’t withstand the vigorous activity of larger dogs can lead to loose building materials or exposed surfaces which could allow for ingestion of foreign materials and make cleaning difficult. Primary enclosures must be constructed of suitable materials and kept in good repair to ensure the health of the animals. Correct by: 12/31/2026.
3.13(b) (Non-Critical) – Veterinary care for dogs.
The licensee does not have records of the results for the last fecal samples analyzed by the veterinarian. The licensee stated that fecal exams were completed for two of the adult dogs in 2025, however, the last available records are from April 2023. The Program of Veterinary Care states that the facility will sample 10% of the adult dogs every 2 years. Medical records for dogs are important to ensure that the dogs are receiving adequate veterinary care in a timely and appropriate manner and to verify that the facility is following the Program of Veterinary Care as directed by the attending veterinarian. Dealers must keep copies of medical records for dogs which include the identity of the dog, routine husbandry (vaccinations, preventive medical procedures, or treatments), and findings for tests or examinations. Correct by maintaining medical records for all regulated dogs. Correct by: 06/01/2026. This inspection and exit interview were conducted with the licensee.
