2.40(b)(2) (Non-Critical) – Attending veterinarian and adequate veterinary care (dealers and exhibitors).
In the cattery housing was a bottle of injectible 100mg/ml Baytril antibiotic with an expiration date of February 2023. The licensee stated that it was intended to be used in a nebulizer. Expired medications do not ensure that the medications are effective at treating disease or illness and the health of the animal may suffer. Each dealer shall use appropriate methods to prevent, control, diagnose, and treat diseases and injuries. The facility must ensure all medications are not expired. Corrected during the inspection by discarding the medicine. This inspection and exit interview were conducted with a facility representative. n
