2.40(a)(2) (Non-Critical) – Attending veterinarian and adequate veterinary care (dealers and exhibitors).
The licensee has not been following their written Program of Veterinary Care (PVC) approved by their attending veterinarian. The PVC states to avoid the use of Marquis in puppies under 6 weeks of age. Records showed that all puppies are given Marquis at 3 weeks of age. Giving a medication to animals that are too young could cause harmful effects to their health. Each dealer and exhibitor shall assure that the attending veterinarian has appropriate authority to ensure the provision of adequate veterinary care and to oversee the adequacy of other aspects of animal care and use. Correct by ensuring that medications are given at the prescribed age in accordance with the PVC and that all the guidelines in the PVC are followed. This is a 1st Re-License Inspection for a Class “A” license. The inspection and exit briefing were conducted with the applicant. All items must be in compliance within 2 more inspections or by June 22, 2024 or the applicant will forfeit the license fee and must wait 6 months to reapply. Please contact your inspector to schedule your next Re-License Inspection. Regulated activity can continue under your existing USDA license until it expires. n
