2.40(b)(2) (Non-Critical) – Attending veterinarian and adequate veterinary care (dealers and exhibitors).
Currently, heartworm prevention is not being given to adult dogs in accordance with the Program of Veterinary Care (PVC). The licensee states he has some Ivermectin but he is not using it. Heartworm disease is a parasitic infection spread by mosquitos to dogs. Dogs affected may cough or show signs of pain or discomfort. Each dealer shall use appropriate methods to prevent diseases as established in the PVC. Correct by: ensuring appropriate dogs are given monthly heartworm preventative as stated in the PVC starting April 1, 2023. This inspection and exit interview were conducted with the licensee. n

A responsible adult was not available to accompany APHIS Officials during the inspection process at 3:10pm on Tuesday, December 5, 2023. The inspector knocked on the door and called the phone number on file. The licensee answered but stated was not available for an inspection. End Section
