3.13(a)(3) (Non-Critical) – Veterinary care for dogs.
The facility currently has 16 adult dogs that have not received the distemper and parvovirus vaccinations. Failure to vaccinate dogs for deadly and contagious diseases and to conduct sampling and treatment for parasites and other pests in accordance with the attending veterinarians approved schedule can expose the animals to increased disease risk and can delay treatment. Correct by ensuring that vaccinations for contagious and/or deadly diseases of dogs (including rabies, parvovirus, and distemper) and sampling and treatment of parasites and other pests (including fleas, worms, coccidia, giardia, and heartworm) in accordance with a schedule approved by the attending veterinarian are followed. This is a 1st Re-License Inspection for a Class “A” license. The inspection and exit briefing were conducted with the applicant. All items must be in compliance within 2 more inspections or by 09-July-2024 or the applicant will forfeit the license fee and must wait 6 months to reapply. Please contact your inspector to schedule your next Re-License Inspection. n

3.13(a)(3) (Non-Critical) – Veterinary care for dogs.
The facility is not following the program of veterinary care for vaccinations. The Program of Veterinary Care currently prescribes dogs will be vaccinated for DAPP and Leptospirosis (7-way vaccine) annually. 2 adult dogs are not up to date on their Distemper, Parvo, or Leptospirosis vaccines: – Pelicity #48023 last administered on 26 June 2024 – Rhonda #41146 last administered on 26 June 2024 The facility representative stated that both dogs were pregnant when the vaccines were due so he was unable to vaccinate them at that time. He was not able to determine if the two dogs received the vaccine after the puppies were weaned. Failure to follow the preventative care schedule for vaccinations in the Program of Veterinary Care does not ensure the dogs are receiving appropriate protection against contagious and deadly diseases such as distemper, parvo, leptospirosis, and rabies which can lead to illness and discomfort to the dogs. The facility must follow the vaccination schedule approved by the attending veterinarian in the Program of Veterinary Care to protect the dogs from deadly or contagious diseases. Correct by 14 January 2026 This inspection and exit interview were conducted with the facility representative. n
