3.13(a)(3) (Non-Critical) – Veterinary care for dogs.
The facility is not following the program of veterinary care for vaccinations. The Program of Veterinary Care currently prescribes dogs will be vaccinated for DAPP/Leptospirosis (7-way) at 11 weeks of age, 16 weeks of age, and annually going forward. A 15-week-old Boston Terrier puppy (#25-079) born on 20 August 2025 has not received a DAPP/Lepto (7-way) vaccine as prescribed in the Program of Veterinary Care. Failure to follow the preventative care schedule for vaccinations in the Program of Veterinary Care does not ensure the dogs are receiving appropriate protection against contagious and deadly diseases such as distemper, parvo, leptospirosis, and rabies which can lead to illness and discomfort to the dogs. The facility must follow the vaccination schedule approved by the attending veterinarian in the Program of Veterinary Care to protect the dogs from deadly or contagious diseases. The facility has not performed the annual fecal sampling for internal parasites. The last recorded fecal sample results were obtained on 15 January 2024. The Program of Veterinary Care states fecal exams will be performed annually on 10% of the adult dogs for intestinal parasites. Failure to follow the parasite control program approved by the attending veterinarian may not properly protect the dogs from parasites and may allow illness to go undetected and untreated, which may cause pain and unnecessary discomfort to the dogs. The facility must follow the parasite control testing schedule approved by the attending veterinarian to protect the dogs from parasites and other pests (worms, coccidia, giardia and heartworm) and have the dogs tested annually. Correct by 19 December 2025

3.13(a)(4) (Non-Critical) – Veterinary care for dogs.
The facility is not following an appropriate program of veterinary care to ensure clean and healthy teeth. An adult Cavalier King Charles Spaniel “Kate” (microchip # 991003001653400) was observed with a significant buildup of hard, brown organic debris on the teeth of the upper jaw. The gum tissue in this area has a slightly dark red appearance indicating inflammation. The teeth do not appear to be mobile and gum recession was not apparent. The dog appears to be normal in weight and did not exhibit pain on oral examination. The Program of Veterinary Care prescribes teeth shall be examined on a regular basis at a minimum of once a year. Buildup of hard, brown debris on the teeth can be a sign of dental disease. Dental disease can be a source of pain and infection for dogs, possibly leading to difficulty eating, weight loss, or tooth loss. The licensee must ensure that preventative care and treatments are being regularly performed to ensure clean and healthy teeth, in accordance with the established Program of Vet Care. Correct by 19 December 2025 This inspection and exit interview were conducted with the facility representative. n
