3.13(b)(3) (Non-Critical) – Veterinary care for dogs.
The facility did not create a medical record for the distemper and parvovirus vaccines given to two male Poodle dogs, “Derrick” and “Austin”. The facility representative contacted the licensee who reports the vaccines were given this year but he was unaware that he needed to record that information. The Program of Vet Care prescribes for those vaccinations to be given yearly. Complete medical records allow APHIS inspectors to ensure the facility is following their written Program of Vet Care and the Animal Welfare Act. Correct by ensuring dealers create medical records for dogs and make the records available for APHIS inspection. In addition to the identification of the animal, complete medical records must include the names of all vaccines and treatments administered and the dates of administration. Correct by: August 4, 2026. This inspection and exit interview were conducted with the facility representative. n
