3.11(a) (Non-Critical) – Cleaning, sanitization, housekeeping, and pest control.
An excessive amount of fecal material was observed in the litter boxes of six cat enclosures. Litter boxes are not being cleaned daily to prevent excessive buildup. It is important for daily removal of excreta for the comfort of the animal, prevent soiling of the animal, and to reduce disease hazards, insects, pests and odors. Excreta must be removed from primary enclosures daily, and as often as necessary to prevent excessive buildup of fecal material. Correct this day, 10DEC2025, forward.
3.75(c)(3) (Non-Critical) – Housing facilities, general.
There is an accumulation of more than a day’s worth of feces along the bottom edges of an enclosure housing 4 Ring- tailed lemurs. Not maintaining appropriate levels of cleanliness and allowing feces to buildup in areas where nonhuman primates can come in contact can result in soiling of animal, risk of disease, and attraction of unwanted pests and odors. Hard surfaces with which nonhuman primates come in contact must be spot cleaned daily to prevent buildup of feces and spoiled food matter. Correct this day, 10DEC2025, forward. This inspection and exit interview were conducted with the facility representatives. n

2.40(a)(1) (Non-Critical) – Attending veterinarian and adequate veterinary care (dealers and exhibitors).
The facility does not have a Program of Veterinary Care for their cats. The facility seeks veterinary care at a local veterinary clinic but does not have an attending veterinarian under a formal agreement. A written Program of Veterinary Care must identify a veterinarian who has formally agreed to serve as the attending veterinarian for the facility. This agreement includes conducting at least one on site visit annually and preparing or reviewing the Program of Veterinary Care. Failure to secure an attending veterinarian prevents APHIS officials from determining whether animals at the facility are receiving adequate veterinary care or whether appropriate methods are being used to prevent, diagnose, control, and treat diseases and injuries. Each dealer and exhibitor shall employ an attending veterinarian under formal arrangements. In the case of a part-time attending veterinarian or consultant arrangements, the formal arrangements shall include a written program of veterinary care and regularly scheduled visits to the premises of the dealer or exhibitor. This inspection and exit interview were conducted with the facility representatives. n
