2.75(a)(1) (Non-Critical) – Records: Dealers and exhibitors.
A female red merle 7-month-old dog (24-140) and a female red tricolor 7-month-old dog (24-142) are missing from the Record of Acquisition of Dogs and Cats on Hand (APHIS form 7005). Both dogs were born at the facility but were never added to the animals on hand per the licensee. Failure to document dogs on APHIS form 7005 can interfere with the ability of APHIS officials to trace the movement of animals, to identify animals, and to acquire acquisition information for specific animals. Each dealer shall make, keep, and maintain records or forms which fully and correctly disclose the required information concerning each dog purchased or otherwise acquired, owned, held, or otherwise in his or her possession or under his or her control, or which is transported, euthanized, sold, or otherwise disposed of. The records shall include any offspring born of any animal while in his or her possession or under his or her control. The licensee must add the information for the two dogs to APHIS form 7005. To be corrected from this day forward: May 15, 2025.
3.13(a)(3) (Non-Critical) – Veterinary care for dogs.
The facility is not following the written program of veterinary care (PVC) for dogs regarding the sampling and treatment of parasites and other pests. The program of veterinary care (PVC) directs that for intestinal parasites, a sampling of 5 adults annually with a pooled sample will be performed. For blood parasites, a sampling of 1 dog per year will be performed. The licensee did not have any fecal or heartworm test results available for 2024 or 2025 as was confirmed by the attending veterinarian. Not performing follow-up tests as directed by the PVC, could lead to undetected problems that can cause illness and infection in the dogs. The licensee must follow the program of vet care in accordance with a schedule approved by the attending veterinarian for the sampling and treatment of parasites and other pests. To be corrected from this day forward: May 15, 2025. This inspection and exit interview were conducted with the licensee. n
