2.130 (Non-Critical) – Minimum age requirements.
One puppy born on 4/6/21 was shipped on 5/29/21. It was shipped three days prior to the 8 weeks minimum age requirement. Another puppy born on 6/16/22 was shipped on 8/10/22. It was shipped one day prior to the 8 weeks minimum age requirement. Puppies younger than 8 weeks of age are more susceptible to stresses that occur from travelling and being placed into a new facility. Their immune systems are more susceptible to becoming compromised which could cause them to become sick and even die. The licensee must not sell and transport any puppies under 8 weeks of age. Correct from this day forward. This inspection and exit interview were conducted with the licensee. End of report. n

2.40(b)(3) (Non-Critical) – Attending veterinarian and adequate veterinary care (dealers and exhibitors).
A female pug #127 had a left eye that contained a moderate amount of yellow discharge, discolored white portion of the eye, and a dry surface of the eye globe. This condition was not identified by the licensee, therefore care had not been initiated or communicated with the attending veterinarian on the findings. Failure to promptly identify such conditions delays care and may result in undue discomfort. A more rigorous method of daily observation of all animals must be implemented in order to property assess their health and well-being. Correct by communicating with the attending veterinarian regarding the findings of today’s inspection. Correct by 12/7/2023. This inspection and exit interview were conducted with the licensee.
