Two outdoor areas for dams with litters had a build up of feces. Daily spot cleaning hasn’t been done for these two outside areas although the indoor area was clean for all dogs. Surfaces that dogs contact need to be spot-cleaned daily to prevent build-up of soiled areas and to reduce disease risk. Ensure that all areas that dogs contact are spot-cleaned daily to prevent any build up of soiled material. 2.40(b)(2) (Non-Critical) – Attending veterinarian and adequate veterinary care (dealers and exhibitors).
-A male yorkie’s (DOB 12-18-2019, ID #33) left 3 upper incisor (front) teeth were loose to the touch and its incisors had receded gums by the tooth roots. Teeth that are loose to the touch with receded gum lines are a sign of dental disease and can cause a dog discomfort and health problems. To prevent discomfort and health problems, ensure to have this dog evaluated by a veterinarian and treated per veterinarian recommendations. ***Correct by 7/15/2023. -An expired bottle of calcium 23% solution (Exp 5/2022) was stored and ready for use and per licensee has been used this year. Expired medications might not be effective as intended or in some cases can cause animals to become sick. Ensure to check medications on a regular basis and ensure non-expired medications are used. ***Correct by 7/7/2023.
