3.6(c)(1)(i) (Non-Critical) – Primary enclosures.
Five golden doodle puppies were in an enclosure that measured 44.5” X 40.5″ for a total of 1,802.25 square inches of space. The puppies measured 16”, 17.5”, 18”, 19”, and 19.5” respectively. The five puppies together required 2,887.5 square inches of space. Their enclosure was short by 1,802.25 square inches of space. Cage space requirements ensure that the dogs have enough room to move about freely within their enclosures. It minimizes the dogs from stepping or sitting in their feces or urine and also minimizes the spread of disease. The licensee must ensure that all enclosures containing dogs and puppies have enough floor space to meet the minimum floor space requirements for the number of and the size of the dogs in that enclosure. Correct starting on 5/7/25. This inspection and exit interview were conducted with the licensee. End of report. Additional Inspectors: Alexandra Friedman, VETERINARY MEDICAL OFFICER n
