2.40(b)(2) (Direct) – Attending veterinarian and adequate veterinary care (dealers and exhibitors).
There is a six year old white male bichon (microchip # 7E10034200, date of birth 02-16-2016) with a heavy accumulation of tartar buildup on the upper dental arcades. The buildup has produced a thick brown deposit of debris on teeth on both the right and left sides with inflammation and recession of gum tissue. Accumulation of dental tartar may lead to inappetence, gum infection, gum recession with loosening or loss of teeth, pain and discomfort. Each dealer shall establish and maintain programs of adequate veterinary care that include the use of appropriate methods to prevent, control, diagnose and treat diseases and injuries. This dog needs to be evaluated by your veterinarian and an appropriate plan for treatment established by April 10 2022.

3.11(a) (Non-Critical) – Cleaning, sanitization, housekeeping, and pest control.
There is a large amount of fecal buildup on the exterior concrete slab in 4 occupied dog runs on the east side of the far east kennel building. There is also a large amount of fecal buildup under and on the exterior suspended floor of a suspended kennel on the west side that is occupied by three dogs. Buildup of fecal material on surfaces contributes to insanitary conditions which may lead to soiling of dogs and an increased risk of disease. Accumulated waste may also attract flies and other pests. Excreta and food waste must be removed from primary enclosures daily and from under primary enclosures as often as necessary to prevent an excess of feces and food waste. Affected dogs need to be moved to clean kennels or accumulated waste removed by the end of today. The inspector reached the licensee by phone at 12:28 pm and the licensee stated that they were out of town and there was no person available for inspection. 2.40(b)(2) (Non-Critical) – Attending veterinarian and adequate veterinary care (dealers and exhibitors).
During inspection, a tricolored (white + brown + gray), intact female Shih Tzu, with a date of birth of 09-12-2016 and microchip #933000320457370, was found with thick dark brown deposits of tartar over right and left upper and lower rear teeth. A thick deposit of tartar was also found on the base of the lower right canine tooth. The licensee stated this dog is bred and unable to have a dental done until after whelping. Accumulation of tartar on teeth may lead to discomfort, difficulty chewing, progressive gum disease and tooth loss. The use of appropriate methods to prevent, control, diagnose and treat tartar accumulation and other dental or disease issues, and timely correction of those issues when found, is necessary for the overall health and well-being of animals. Correct by June 15, 2026.

3.13(a)(2) (Non-Critical) – Veterinary care for dogs.
During inspection, the licensee was unable to provide documentation on an annual veterinary exam and findings for an intact female Shih Tzu with a date of birth of 09-12-2016 and microchip #933000320457370. At the time of inspection, the licensee stated that this dog had received a veterinary annual exam on 10-10-2025 along with other dogs in the kennel. The licensee was unable to provide written documentation of an annual exam and findings for this dog conducted on 10- 10-2025 or within the previous 12 months to today’s inspection. Annual veterinary exams are important to evaluate the health of all breeding stock and to detect diseases or conditions that may impact the health and well-being of animals. An annual veterinary exam for all adult dogs within a licensed facility is required and should include a record of exam findings dated and signed by your veterinarian. Correct by June 15, 2026.
