3.13(a) (Non-Critical) – Veterinary care for dogs.
The written Program of Veterinary Care form states that all adult dogs will be given “1 dose annually” for vaccinations against parvovirus, distemper, Leptospirosis and Bordetella. The last documented record of adult dogs receiving their vaccinations was dated 7-23-24. The PVC also states that 10% of the dogs will have fecal exams done on a yearly basis. There are no records to indicate that 10% of the dogs had fecal examinations done within the past 12 months. Routine sampling of parasites and preventative care in the form of vaccinations for contagious diseases are methods used by veterinarians to be able to provide early detection and/or early protection against diseases and parasites. Licensees must follow the written PVC for dogs which addresses the requirements for adequate veterinary care for contagious diseases and sampling and treatment of parasites. Correct by 17 September 2025. This inspection and exit interview were conducted with a facility representative. n
