2.50(a)(1) (Non-Critical) – Time and method of identification.
There is currently no identification system in place for the dogs at the facility which meets USDA APHIS requirements. All dogs housed at the facility must be identified by one of the acceptable means described in section 2.50(a)(1). Dogs and Puppies are being issued an identification number, however this ID number is only used on the official APHIS Forms (7005 and 7006). Licensee needs to utilize a compliant system of ID such as an official tag, tattoo or microchip for each dog. All animals must be identified by one of the following: 1) a collar that contains the letters USDA, a unique identifying number, and the license number; 2) a tattoo approved by USDA; or 3) a microchip that can be scanned by the licensee. *******Correct by Dec. 22, 2023
3.6(a)(1) (Non-Critical) – Primary enclosures.
Two dog enclosures had areas where the solid flooring was crumbling and jagged. A hole was observed in the flooring directly below the automatic water source in both enclosures. This could possibly allow the dogs feet to fall through and potentially become injured. Primary enclosures for dogs must be kept in good repair. The licensee must correct this issue. *********Correct by Dec. 12, 2023 This inspection and exit interview were conducted with the licensee. n

2.40(b)(2) (Non-Critical) – Attending veterinarian and adequate veterinary care (dealers and exhibitors).
At the time of inspection several bottles of medications, supplements as well as two open syringes were stored on the top of a dog enclosure. A bottle of Metronidazole was identified with an expiration date of Jan 2025 along with an Iron supplement with an expiration date of 4/20. Medication beyond its expiration date could lose the ability to be effective, and does not constitute the standard of care. In addition, medication and needles and syringes must be stored in a sanitary manner. The licensee must ensure that all medication is properly stored and any expired medication is removed from use in the kennel. The licensee corrected this issue by disposing of the expired medication and moving the medication and supplies at the time of inspection. ********Corrected on 2/20/25
2.75(a)(1) (Non-Critical) – Records: Dealers and exhibitors.

Records shall be maintained for litters born at the facility and must include the sex, breed type, a date of birth, and color.
