3.4(b) (Non-Critical) – Outdoor housing facilities.
*** The outdoor runs in the back of the kennel have a singular large shelter for all the dogs in the enclosure. These runs also need to have additional area of shade that is large enough to allow all the dogs to be out of the shelter and still have protection from direct rays of the sun. 3.8 (Non-Critical) – Exercise for dogs.
There was no written exercise plan for dogs available for review. However, the size of the pens meet the requirement for exercise and the dogs are given access to open exercise areas daily. Failure to have a written exercise plan can result in failure to provide adequate exercise to dogs. Facilities must develop, document, and follow an appropriate plan to provide dogs with the opportunity for exercise. The plan must be approved by the attending veterinarian and be made available to APHIS upon request. 3.11(a) (Non-Critical) – Cleaning, sanitization, housekeeping, and pest control.
Enclosures are not being spot cleaned daily. There was a build up of feces in multiple enclosures that needs to be removed. Fecal and food waste must be removed from primary enclosures daily to prevent soiling of the dogs and reduce odors. Correct by: April 25, 2024

3.11(c) (Non-Critical) – Cleaning, sanitization, housekeeping, and pest control.
Housekeeping at the facility must be addressed. There are empty whelping enclosures with fecal and food waste that have not been cleaned since the puppies left almost a month ago. Next to these whelping enclosures, there is a grate over the floor with one inch openings, and under the grate is visible fecal waste, old shavings, used syringe bottles and dust and debris. These areas of the kennel must be kept cleaned to reduce odors and disease hazards and to facilitate good housekeeping practices. Correct by: May 1, 2024 This inspection and exit interview were conducted with the licensee. n
