3.13 (Non-Critical) – Veterinary care for dogs.
The facility has record of regular attending veterinarian visits and a written program of veterinary care (PVC) that is signed and approved by the attending veterinarian, however the approved PVC does not include a plan for complete physical exams from head to tail of each dog by the attending veterinarian and a plan for sampling of parasites. Yearly physical exams of each dog in the kennel and a plan for sampling of parasites are now required for optimum health of dogs. Ensure that the written PVC addresses physical exams and parasite sampling as approved by the attending veterinarian. Correct by 2/26/2022. This inspection and exit interview were conducted with a facility representative. End Section

2.53 (Non-Critical) – Use of tags.
In reviewing records, it was found that tag #72 had been used on a breeding dog that was transferred to another facility on 1/8/2024 and then was re-used on another recently acquired dog. Using the same tag number to identify more than one animal can make animal husbandry records confusing and difficult to know which animal the number refers to. No tag number shall be used to identify more than one animal. No number shall be repeated within a 5-year period. ***Correct by 1/11/2024.

3.13(a)(2) (Non-Critical) – Veterinary care for dogs.
Per the licensee, the last time physical exams for each adult dog done by the Attending Veterinarina (AV) was January 11, 2023 (a year ago). The AV confirmed today on the phone that in December 2023 the licensee had health certificate physical exams done for seven adult dogs, however physical exams for each adult dog in the kennel weren’t done. A complete physical examination from head to tail of each dog by the attending veterinarian at least every 12 months is required for each dog on hand to ensure that each dog is healthy. Ensure that the physical exams for each dog on hand are completed at least once every 12 months. ***Correct by March 8, 2024. This inspection and exit interview were conducted with the licensee. n

3.3(e)(1)(iii) (Non-Critical) – Sheltered housing facilities.
The outdoor south-facing wall that dogs can touch is made of concrete-blocks and has not been sealed. Walls and surfaces that dogs can contact must be impervious to moisture to allow routine cleaning and sanitizing. Ensure that this area of the wall is impervious to moisture. ***Correct by 11/29/2024. This inspection and exit interview were conducted with the licensee. n
