3.13(a)(3) (Non-Critical) – Veterinary care for dogs.
The current program of veterinary care does not include a sampling program with a schedule approved by the attending veterinarian for fleas, worms, coccidia, giardia, and heartworms. Lack a a sampling program makes it difficult to determine the effectiveness of the treatment plan for parasites. A sampling and treatment program with a schedule approved by the attending veterinarian must be established to help prevent and maintain an effective parasite program. Correct by May 1, 2022.
3.13(b)(3) (Non-Critical) – Veterinary care for dogs.
There were no dates for the administration of distemper and parvovirus vaccines for the adult dogs. Licensee stated that a 5 way vaccine is given annually to the adult dogs. Failure to keep records on the dates and administration of distemper and parvovirus vaccines to adult dogs makes it difficult to determine when vaccines and treatments were last given. Licensee must keep and maintain records of the names and dates of all vaccines and treatments given to adult dogs. Correct by May 1, 2022. This inspection and exit interview were conducted with the licensee. End Section

There were no records listing the date(s) the adult dogs received their last distemper and parvovirus vaccines. The were no records listing when the adult dogs were last dewormed. Licensee stated that the adults dogs are vaccinated yearly with a 5-way vaccine and dewormed regularly. Failure to record the dates and names of all treatments makes it difficult to assess whether the written program of veterinary care is being followed as prescribed by the attending veterinarian and that the adult dogs are receiving preventative care to prevent health risks. Correct by maintaining records and dates of all vaccines and deworming treatments that are administered to the adult dogs. This is a 1st re-license inspection for a Class A license. The inspection and exit briefing were conducted with the applicant. All items must be in compliance within 2 more inspections or by May 26, 2025 or the applicant will forfeit the license fee and must wait 6 months to reapply.
