3.6(a)(2)(ix) (Non-Critical) – Primary enclosures.
The facility has excessive chew damage present on multiple surfaces in the facility. The ramps used for the dogs to access the outdoor runs have chew damage on the edges and corners. One whelping box has chew damage present on the top rim and corners. The wooden frame around the pet doors and support beams in the indoor area of the kennel have excessive chew damage. Chew damage does not allow for proper sanitization of surfaces and can increase disease risk and can create sharp surfaces that can injure the dogs. The licensee must ensure that all surfaces in contact with the dogs are able to be cleaned and sanitized in accordance with 3.11(b) of this subpart, or replaced when worn or soiled. Correct by February 8, 2023. This inspection and exit interview were conducted with the Facility Representative. End Section
