3.11(a) (Non-Critical) – Cleaning, sanitization, housekeeping, and pest control.
Four enclosures housing 8 adult dogs has not had excreta removed daily in the outdoor portion of their enclosure. Each enclosure’s outdoor section has several days worth of feces present. The licensee states the enclosures are cleaned two times a week. Failure to remove excreta daily from primary enclosures may result in an accumulation of feces and lead to increased disease hazards, increased odors and possible discomfort to the animals. Excreta and food waste must be removed from primary enclosures daily, and from under primary enclosures as often as necessary to prevent an excessive accumulation of feces and food waste, to prevent soiling of the dogs or cats contained in the primary enclosures, and to reduce disease hazards, insects, pests and odors. To be corrected by: 2-March-2026 This inspection and exit interview were conducted with the licensee. n
