3.13(a)(3) (Non-Critical) – Veterinary care for dogs.
The applicant is not following the vaccination schedule in the written Program of Veterinary Care (PVC). The PVC prescribes for the parvovirus and distemper vaccinations for adults to be performed yearly. The adult dogs last received their parvovirus and distemper vaccinations on 11/30/2022. The adult dogs are not up to date on the required vaccinations for distemper and parvovirus and are overdue. Failure to administer vaccines in accordance with a veterinary approved schedule can increase the risk of disease exposure and disease transmission, and cause illness to the animals. Correct by ensuring all animals are vaccinated in accordance with the guidelines and schedule approved by the Attending Veterinarian. This is a 1st Re-License Inspection for a Class “A” license. The inspection and exit briefing were conducted with the applicant. All items must be in compliance within 2 more inspections or by June 8, 2024 or the applicant will forfeit the license fee and must wait 6 months to reapply. Please contact your inspector to schedule your next Re-License Inspection. Regulated activity can continue under your existing USDA license until it expires. n

2.40(b)(3) (Direct) – Attending veterinarian and adequate veterinary care (dealers and exhibitors).
One dog has been identified at the facility as requiring veterinary care. The facility had not identified the dental issue prior to the inspection. A light brown female Maltipoo (microchip #7857) that is approximately 4.5 years old has gum recession and loose teeth on the upper jaw. Multiple teeth are mobile when minimal pressure applied and there are multiple teeth missing. This issue was identified while performing the physical examination of the dog when the inspector observed movement in the teeth with minimum pressure applied to the teeth and gums. Failure to conduct adequate daily observations to assess the health and well-being of the dogs with direct and frequent communication to the attending veterinarian can delay treatment and increase severity of health conditions. The facility contacted the veterinarian at the time of inspection and scheduled an appointment for 3:00 PM on 25-June- 2025. Correct by ensuring that the animal listed above, and the condition of the animal are reported to the attending veterinarian so that the animals can be properly examined, diagnosed, and treated. Additionally, ensure that daily observation of animals is adequate to identify any signs of poor health. Ensure that there is accurate and timely communication of problems of animal health, behavior, and well-being conveyed to the attending veterinarian. Correct by 5:00 PM, 26-June- 2025 This inspection and exit interview were conducted with the Facility Representative. n
