3.13(a)(3) (Non-Critical) – Veterinary care for dogs.
The facility is not following the program of veterinary care for vaccinations. The program of veterinary care currently prescribes dogs will be vaccinated for distemper, parvovirus, and leptospirosis annually. All 10 adult dogs currently housed at the facility were not administered a vaccine containing leptospirosis as required by the program of veterinary care. The dogs were administered a DAPP (5-way) vaccine containing coronavirus in 2025 but have not received a leptospirosis vaccine since 2023 per available medical records. Failure to follow the preventative care schedule for vaccinations in the program of veterinary care does not ensure the dogs are receiving appropriate protection against contagious and deadly diseases such as distemper, parvo, leptospirosis, and rabies which can lead to illness and discomfort to the dogs. The facility must follow the vaccination schedule approved by the attending veterinarian in the program of veterinary care to protect the dogs from deadly or contagious diseases. Corrected at the time of the inspection. This is a 1st Re-License Inspection for a Class “A” license. The inspection and exit briefing were conducted with the applicant. All items must be in compliance within 2 more inspection(s) or by 18 July 2025 or the applicant will forfeit the license fee and must wait 6 months to reapply. Please contact your inspector to schedule your next Re-License Inspection. Regulated activity can continue under your existing USDA license until it expires. n
